  1. 1.The adidas Pure Game Olé Challenge Competition Mechanics are governed by the following:

    1. 1.1.The Adidas Pure Game Olé Challenge a1‐on‐1 sports entertainment event that emphasizes skill, flair and creativity.

    2. 1.2.Being more of a sports entertainment event than a sporting event, the Adidas Pure Game South Africa contest makes for an exciting and exhilarating spectacle for the watching audience.

    3. 1.3.The Adidas Pure Game Olé Challenge contest is held inside a circular steel cage, 20 feet in diameter, thus giving it a street feel of rebellion and self‐expression.

    4. 1.4.The competition will be held at the following venue:

    5. Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur (19th –23rd May 2010 )

    6. The Adidas Pure Game Olé Challenge contest is open to all members of the general public through the recruitments from various universities, colleges and futsal centres.





  1. 2.The Adidas Pure Game Olé Challenge Competition Rules must be adhered to strictly at all times.


  2. These rules are as follows:

    1. 2.1.FORMAT

      1. 2.1.1.The duration of every match is one (1) minute.

      2. 2.1.2.As soon as a contestant suffers an olé, the match is finished and the tie awarded to the opponent regardless of the score at that precise moment.

      3. 2.1.3.Should neither contestant manage to olé their opponent, then the full‐time score shall be used as a tie breaker.

      4. 2.1.4.In the event of a stalemate, there will be an additional 1‐minute of golden goal extra‐time played whereby the contestant who manages to score a goal first or to olé his opponent in that time will be declared the winner.

      5. 2.1.5.In the event of a stalemate, there will be an additional 1‐minute of golden goal extra‐time played whereby the contestant who manages to score a goal first or to olé his opponent in that time will be declared the winner.

      6. 2.1.6.The Adidas Pure Game Olé Challenge competition is played in a straight knockout contest where the winners of each match will proceed to the next round whilst the losers will be eliminated from the tournament.


    2. 2.2.FOULS


      1. 1.The following are defined as fouls in the Adidas Pure Game Olé Challenge Competition:


        1. 1.Excessive force This includes the following:


      1. Violent conduct

      2. Fighting

      3. Excessive physical contact

      4. Intentional sliding tackles on an opponent


  3. Excessive fouls are punishable by a red card given at a referees’ discretion and results in an automatic win awarded to the opponent.

        1. 1.Careless fouls

      1. Careless fouls are a result of negligence and are unintentional and include the following:

      2. Accidental tripping

      3. Unintentional handball

      4. Careless fouls are punishable by the awarding of the ball to the opponent to start play from the point the foul was committed.

        1. 2.Professional Fouls

        2. Professional fouls are deliberate, intentional fouls committed against the opponent to gain an advantage in game play. Professional fouls include the following:


        3. Intentional handball

        4. Holding**

        5. Obstruction

        6. Pushing

        7. Pulling

        8. Shirt pulling

        9. Charging

        10. Unfair physical contact

        11. Professional fouls are punishable by a penalty kick* awarded to the opponent. (See ‘Decision(s)’ for definition of ‘Penalty Kick’ and ‘Holding’.)

        12. 3.Other fouls Acts committed in an unsportsmanlike and ungentlemanly nature (towards the opponent or the referee) will result in the issue of a yellow card and a penalty kick* awarded against the offender. These include:

          1. Time wasting

          2. Ungentlemanly conduct

          3. Unsporting behavior

          4. Obscene gestures

        13. Decisions:

        14. i)A Penalty Kick is defined as a direct kick at the opponent’s goal (without ANY obstruction by the opponent) from the point the offence was committed.

        15. ii)Holding is defined as:

            1. Using the hand(s) (outstretched or otherwise) to hold off opponents.

            2. Using the hand(s) to hold onto the cage wall.


    1. 2.2.KICKOFF

      1. 2.2.1.START

      2. The Kickoff at the start of each game will be conducted in the following manner:

      3. The football will be placed in the middle of the cage.

      4. Players will have to ready themselves with one hand holding onto the cage in front of their respective goals.

      5. Upon the referees’ whistle, players race to control the ball.

      6. 2.2.2.AFTER A GOAL IS SCORED

        1. After a goal is scored, the opposing player starts with the ball in front of his goal.

  4. Decisions:

  5. As soon as a goal is scored, the referee will not blow to signal the restart and the game automatically continues as per regulation 3.3.2 above.


    1. 2.2.MISCELLANEOUS The most important rules in the Adidas Pure Game Olé Challenge Competition are:

      1. 2.2.1.In game play, the Referees’ decision is final and binding.

      2. 2.2.2.In the affairs of the entire competition, the Tournament Director’s decision is final and binding.
